So we all think about Spring Cleaning our houses or apartments…but lest we forget to Spring Clean our own bodies – the temple in which we continuously inhabit regardless of where our brick and mortar resides. Here’s a few recipes from posts-past that provide a little detoxification of the body, for which Springtime is the most apropos.
If you have the time, the 4-day Springtime Detoxifying Cleanse is absolutely wonderful! As is fresh fruit…tons of fresh fruit!
For just a quick kick into purification, Teatime: Rosey Detox is a simple and easy way to get a minor flushing…and with just a cup, I do mean minor. But every little bit helps, right?!
And for the smoothie-inclined, and with Farmer’s Markets beginning to appear throughout the South (it may take a few more weeks for those further North)..check out the Pineapple-Cherry Pick-Me-Up! This smoothie provides the slightest hint of detoxing properties, plus it gives you a nice boost of energy to make it through the day!
And complete the cleansing with some new external products to keep the outside as purified as the inside..Arbonne Seasource Detoxifying Kit!
Happy Spring Cleaning!

I should look into doing something like this once in a while. So often I get so busy with schoolwork or chores or trying not to go off my restrictive diet I forget about these types of things.
Oh yeah, Denise! I love a good 4-day detox each Spring.. It’s also a good way to kick yourself back into eating healthy, and reduce over consumption.
My body definitely needs a good spring clean. Think I’m going to get my butt into gear and do a short one next week, after easter. Any recommendations for detoxes? I’m into gentle, moderate, simple detoxes otherwise they just stress me out which defeats the object (in part at least!)
Hey Sarah! Yeah, I’m into the gentle, moderate detoxes as well…that’s why I’m a huge fan of the 4-day.. Basically, on day 1 you’re eating nothing but fresh fruit and veg (trying to avoid heavy foods like breads, grains…mostly anything that you have to cook heavily in order to consume). Day 2 is nothing but fruit..lots and lots of fresh fruit. Day 3..water, light tea, a couple of glasses of juice..no solid food. Day 4, slowly incorporating solid food back into the body. Of course, you can extend the day 3 (fasting day) for a few more days, but I think a good 4-day detox is a perfect kick-start. And while it’s relatively simple during the detox, it does take some preparation..you’ll want to have all the fruit and veg at the ready for days 1 and 2..and of course, have something already in mind that you’ll want to eat on day 4 – something light..a brothy soup, a smoothie with some minor chunks in it.. nothing to hard to digest (i.e. beans). You’ll probably want to sleep/nap a lot, so I recommend starting on a day, where day 3 falls on a day you can lounge about the house..no heavy workouts/exertion and the like. And I like this 4-day because I can drink some herbal teas to help get me through the fasting bit – they don’t have to be any special blend..peppermint tea, rose buds tea, whatever tickles your herbal fancy..
